The temple is located in heart of the trichy city. The temple is located in top of the trichy fort. You reach the temple, which is at the top of the fort, by walk. There are steps available from start till top of the fort. For an average person with 25 years old, it would take 15 to 20 mins (approx) to reach top of the fort. The fort is called as Mallaikotai and can be seen from any where in the city.

How to Reach Temple
By Public Transport
You can Trichy by train or bus. There are numerous trains and buses connecting Trichy from various part of south India.
From Trichy take any bus to reach mallaikotai. Almost all local buses goes to mallaikotai.
If you don't get the mallaikotai direct bus, take the bus that goes to Chathiram bus stand.
From Chathiram, mallaikotai is only next stop and almost all buses form Chaithiram goes to mallaikotai. Once you reach mallaikotai, the temple is located near by, whihc is walkable.
Inside Trichy the bus ticket costs only from Rs.3 to Rs.7 (as of Oct 2015).

By Private Transport
You can reach Trichy via NH45 road, from NH45 main road take Trichy entrance road and reach mallaikotai via Thiruvanai Kovil road.
Note parking near mallakotai is very difficult.
